LOPEZ, Quezon — Strengthening support for farmers and rural communities, the municipal government of Lopez and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) renewed their partnership recently to advance agrarian reform initiatives and agricultural development. The meeting underscored the continuing role of national and local government collaboration in delivering programs that benefit the municipality's agricultural sector.

Mayor Isaias "Sonny" P. Ubana II welcomed representatives of the Department of Agrarian Reform to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, where they discussed agrarian reform concerns and other government initiatives related to agricultural development. The dialogue also focused on sustaining coordination to improve the implementation of programs intended for farming communities.

The meeting reflects the municipality's continuing effort to align local priorities with national government programs that strengthen the agricultural sector. It also highlights the importance of institutional coordination in expanding opportunities for farmers and supporting rural development in Lopez.

Mayor Ubana said close coordination with government agencies enables the municipality to respond more effectively to the needs of its constituents. He emphasized that partnerships founded on a shared commitment to public service create greater opportunities for communities to benefit from government programs.

"Sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na pakikipag-ugnayan sa iba't ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan, mas mapapalawak natin ang mga programang tunay na makikinabang ang ating mga mamamayan. Ang sama-samang pagkilos ng bawat institusyon ang susi sa mas mabilis at mas maayos na paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko," Ubana said.

Aside from leading the municipality, Ubana also serves as president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Quezon Chapter, where he promotes stronger collaboration among local government units and national agencies. He said agriculture remains a priority because it supports livelihoods, strengthens the local economy and contributes to the municipality's long-term development.

The mayor said the municipal government will continue pursuing partnerships that create more opportunities for farmers and improve access to government services. He added that sustained cooperation among government institutions and local communities remains essential in achieving inclusive and lasting progress.

"Patuloy nating pagtutulungan ang mga programang magpapalakas sa sektor ng agrikultura at magbibigay ng mas maraming oportunidad sa ating mga magsasaka. Ang pag-unlad ng ating mga komunidad ay bunga ng pagkakaisa, malasakit at sama-samang pagtutulungan," Ubana said.

The renewed partnership reaffirmed the shared commitment of the municipal government and the Department of Agrarian Reform to continue working together in advancing programs for the agricultural sector. It also reinforces Lopez's continuing efforts to strengthen rural communities through responsive governance and sustained interagency cooperation.
