MAUBAN, Quezon - Expanding veterinary and animal-control reach, the Mauban municipal government has deployed a dedicated vehicle for stray-dog operations alongside two mini dump trucks for engineering work. The units were blessed and formally turned over on August 13 to the Municipal Veterinarian Office and Municipal Engineering Office.

The Municipal Veterinarian Office received a specialized vehicle for collecting and safely transporting stray dogs during animal-control operations. The unit may also be used for rabies-prevention activities and veterinary missions involving vaccination, consultations and spay-and-neuter services in outlying communities.

Municipal Veterinarian Dr. Renee Anselmo Villaflor said the vehicle would allow the office to expand its work beyond stray-dog collection and impounding. He said the added mobility would also help veterinary personnel bring animal-health services to barangays farther from the town center.

“Ito pong unit na ito maaari rin po natin itong mapakinabangan sa pagdadala ng ating mga serbisyo sa ating nasasakupan, lalo na sa mga kanayunan, partikular ang ating mga veterinary medical mission, kapon at ligate sa mga alagang aso’t pusa, na dinadala natin sa mga malalayong barangay ng ating munisipalidad,” Villaflor said.

The two mini dump trucks, meanwhile, will be used for hauling materials and supporting maintenance and other engineering work across the municipality. Their deployment gives municipal crews additional equipment for infrastructure-related operations in different barangays.

Mayor Erwin Dwight C. Pastrana said the vehicles form part of the municipality’s effort to improve the delivery of basic services. He led the ribbon-cutting ceremony before the units were turned over to the offices that will operate them.

“Ang mga bagong sasakyan at service pong ito ay mahalagang dagdag-kagamitan upang higit nating mapalakas at mapabilis ang paghahatid ng mga pangunahing serbisyo sa ating mga kababayang Maubanin,” Pastrana said.

The acquisition expands Mauban’s available equipment for engineering work while giving the veterinary office a dedicated vehicle for animal-control and outreach operations. It is part of the municipal government’s agenda to strengthen frontline services by equipping local offices for faster response in the field.

Mauban officials have emphasized improving the capacity of municipal departments to deliver essential services directly to communities across the town. The new units give engineering crews more support for hauling and maintenance work while allowing veterinary personnel to reach more barangays for animal-control and animal-health missions.
