DOLORES, Quezon — Seeking a wider market for its tourist destinations and local products, Dolores has opened discussions with the Philippine Embassy in Japan on stronger tourism connections and possible promotional cooperation. The talks focused on introducing the town’s attractions, locally made goods and tourism experiences to Japanese audiences while creating new opportunities for businesses and producers in the municipality.
Mayor Orlan A. Calayag led the courtesy visit as the municipal government explored possible areas of cooperation with Philippine representatives in Japan. Tourism promotion and market connections were central to the discussion as Dolores looked for new ways to reach visitors, organizations and potential partners outside the Philippines.
Calayag said the effort is intended to connect tourism promotion with opportunities for residents whose businesses and livelihoods depend on stronger demand for local products and visitor activity. He also stressed the importance of building relationships that can introduce Dolores to a wider audience while giving local enterprises more room to grow.
“We want more people outside the Philippines to discover what Dolores can offer, while making sure that tourism promotion also creates meaningful opportunities for our local producers and communities. Our engagement in Japan gives us a chance to build connections that can bring the destinations, products and distinct identity of Dolores to a wider international market,” Calayag said.
No specific project or formal agreement has been announced following the embassy discussions, with any proposed cooperation still requiring further coordination before moving into implementation. The visit nevertheless gave Dolores a direct opening to pursue tourism and market links in Japan while bringing greater attention to the town’s destinations, products and local enterprises.
