DAP President Antonio Kalaw Jr. and Edukasyon.ph founder and CEO Henry Motte Muñoz signed the MOU as both parties embarked on a partnership that aims to “bridge the information asymmetry gap” that exists between the government training and research institution and its clients. This would be done through a free online one-stop web provided by Edukasyon.ph through its portal that would make relevant information about the DAP more accessible.
Market and promote
In effect, the partnership would be able to help market and promote the programs of the DAP through the Edukasyon.ph portal such that the government agency’s target stakeholders from both the public and private sectors can have greater and easier access to DAP products and services, including its training courses and graduate programs, as well as to relevant information about those products and services at greater ease and convenience.
The IMC sees many benefits to the DAP arising from the tieup. It would, for example, advertise DAP programs at no cost. Applicants would also not incur any cost in sending the required documents to the DAP because they can be scanned and uploaded in the Edukasyon.ph portal in real time, and chances of these getting lost are minimal while confidentiality of information is also assured. At the same time, the DAP can track the number of views in its own site as the needed basic data would be provided.
Helping students
Edukasyon.ph, which Muñoz founded in Manila in 2014, originally began as the Filipino-French’s Harvard Business School proposal for an education startup. It now helps students find, apply and pay for the right education for employment, offering a marketplace of careers, courses, high schools, technical vocational schools, colleges and scholarships. It is designed to give them a menu of informed choices for the careers they aspire for. Through the portal, students can search, quickly apply and then pay in a few clicks for schools at their desired location, budget and education type.
Edukasyon.ph also has tieups with colleges and universities and other entities all over the Philippines where it found its first client. These schools and entities include Ateneo de Manila, University of the Philippines, De La Salle, University of Sto. Tomas, the Commission on Higher Education, and the Department of Trade and Industry. (DAP)
