The Protected Area Management Office-Mts. has issued a Notice of Precautionary Closure to Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape (PAMO-MBSCPL) on the closure and prohibition of all activities within the jurisdiction of MBSCPL in the provinces of Laguna and Quezon.
The chairman of PAMO-MBPSCPL has decided to close down and ban any activity on MBSCPL from March 15, 2020, until the next notice in response to President Rodrigo R. Duterte's declaration of 'state of public health emergency' throughout the archipelago because of the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID) -19.
According to the notice, "The safety of every one of them is a priority and we will strictly enforce such law following existing policies and regulations."
PAMO-MBSCPL also calls for immediate notification or reporting to its office or the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office or PENRO of the provinces of Laguna and Quezon for any violation or illegal activity at the following contact numbers: 0190-6368024; 0915-9478894; (042) 373-5534; and (049) 536-5889.
"We look forward to the cooperation and cooperation of everyone at this time," PAMO-MBSCPL said in the notice.
PAMO-MBSCPL has also asked the public to disseminate this information for everyone's knowledge.
Known as the 'mystic mountain,' Mount Banahaw, especially in the Dolores, Quezon area, is one of the hikers' favorite destinations and is believed by believers to be the annual Easter vow.
