“You deprive them of something that they should legally earn just to fend for their families. So the government, now, is just under obligation to at least subsidize or compensate whatever pecuniary damage they sustain,” Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto explained.

Throughout the Philippines, cases of Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) are growing day after day. Covid-19 is a crippling pandemic. Everyone around the world, including royal blood such as Prince Charles of Wales has been affected. However, there is yet another major problem in the Philippines, the poor areas are lockdown and the homeless have no food to eat.

I do not point President Rodrigo Duterte to blame. Covid-19 sets targets at random. But as for Pres. Duterte allowed the Chinese people to reach the country given the problems that exist as if only he had previously banned flights from China, the Philippines might probably have been free of the virus.

"Nobody could see this coming" betrays only your ignorance about the hand-to-mouth living Filipinos. Do not make excuses for corruption and incompetence in government. The 3-week lockdown announcement without any plans did everyone in.

As often, the poor are at the receiving end. Total 4 weeks. The majority of people live hand-to-mouth, with no savings to survive without income for months. This lockdown could be killing more people than the virus. Calculated risk is to encourage the younger population to return to work. Seniors could be shut up just a little longer.

Several people have said they are not blaming the government for anything. Everybody should have remained where they were, this essentially eliminates the whole meaning of the lockdown.

But dude seriously, before Covid-19 came in the Philippines, people are already struggling to feed their families with meager economic stability and rampant inflation. Why can people go through the freeze without money, how can they afford tough necessities? Neither tries to shift the blame onto people. Blame the system and not the workers, don't display your self-superiority by insulting people who only do their job.

In many areas with lockdown and curfew, people don't have the resources to make a living and buy food. Most Filipinos are living in daily salaries. The government has not provided sufficient food distribution services. After the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon a lot of changes have already been made but it seems a lot of people still don't take the situation seriously.

Non-essential employees will not be permitted to enter or leave the province as the complete lockout takes effect. They're told to sit home. However, essential personnel such as health workers and those who have extreme or medical cases are still allowed to pass through the control and border points along the provincial and national roads.

According to reports, P5000-P8000 emergency cash assistance will be given to households with at least 1 member belonging to any of the following disadvantaged groups based on accepted guidelines on COVID19 Social Amelioration initiatives in the Philippines. 18 million families will receive cash assistance under the coronavirus stimulus of the Philippines.

I wonder when and how?
How can we slow the spread in our third world country, the Philippines, when it is our public officials are the basic example of PASAWAY hanging around as if there is no pandemic crisis. What happens if they are the ones who broke the law and became a threat to public safety? They shouldn't even have VIP treatment. You serve the public. The public comes first, not you.

The Philippines, a third world nation, unable to provide its frontliners with protective equipment in public hospitals to fight COVID-19.

This is the country we are in, the Philippines. A place where VIP testing and the power is above all in this pandemic. With such a corrupt government? Who doesn’t take action until it’s too late?

How are we to survive? Can we be shared with compassion, too? The Philippines has no problem with the discipline, it has a problem with compassion. See how easily middle-class fools leap over the throats of the working class and do what they can and survive. If you want us to work together, then why do you throw them at the wolves?

I don't have any idea how we can overcome this crisis in the Philippines, but I'm praying and I hope we can all make it through.
