Targeted testing of Cavite policemen underway; 1% of healthcare workers COVID-19 positive

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - More than a thousand medical frontliners in the province had undergone COVID-19 testing last week while testing for the personnel of the Philippine National Police assigned in the province is in progress.

With the total number of medical frontliners tested, only 12 were found positive of the COVID-19, about 1% of the total giving a thumbs up for the frontliners since results showed they followed the quarantine health protocols that kept them safe.

Meanwhile, the continued testing for the police personnel yielded 13 policemen who are positive of the coronavirus.

This is the risk and the sacrifice the medical and police frontliners had to undergo every time they go out and perform their duties for the safety of the people and to care for the sick.

Governor Remulla said, "Their sacrifice being in the frontline deserves our honor and respect. Let us all follow the law. Let us all follow the rules. These are all for your welfare. Let us not put to waste the sacrifice that the medical and police frontliners by wandering about and having fun."

"I understand the need to balance work, life, and fun but please also understand the risk you are taking. Our priority is to be alive and to help save lives," added the governor.

On the other hand, the latest COVID-19 update for the province showed a total of 538 cases with the 25 new cases recorded as of June 25, 2020. This was the highest number of new COVID-19 cases within 15 weeks in the province.

The governor once again reminded the people to remain safe in their homes and just go out for the purchase of basic essentials and for important errands only. (Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite with a report from the official FB page of Gov. Jonvic Remulla)
