CALAMBA CITY, Laguna - The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) from the province of Quezon is gradually preparing steps that will help to continue the education of students and discover their resources from various fields despite existing new normal system caused by the pandemic.

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar interviewed Rolden Garcia, SK Chairperson of Barangay Ibabang Dupay, Lucena City on June 2, 2020, on the Network Briefing News program.

SK chair Garcia shared with the public their initiatives and activities that have been carried out and are yet to be implemented in the constituency to help give hope to the residents of the area in their education.

He said that with the increase in the number of positive cases, he is also lowering the level of education that every student should enjoy because of COVID 19 so the Sangguniang Kabataan ng Ibabang Dupay was launched by the “Saliksik Kaalaman Program” to provide hope and learning among fellow youth.

He said there was a contest here that even at home just by writing poetry, making slogans, essays, and drawing skills.

SK Garcia is also happy to announce that despite the crisis, they have been able to add new scholarship grants to their fellow youth to help reduce their thinking and hesitation to continue their education due to the pandemic.

Sangguniang Kabataan is currently actively cooperating with the four public schools in their barangay in the so-called new normal school brigade in preparation for the modern education system due to the impact of COVID-19.
