School coordinators for adopt-a-school program, presents annual accomplishments for program implementation review
Presentation of Busal Elementary School facilitated by Sir Patrick Bacera.

TAYABAS CITY - City Schools Division of the City of Tayabas conducted the 2020 Virtual Adopt-A-School Program Implementation Review Cum Planning. Seventy Participants (70) which are composed of the school heads, Brigada Eskwela (BE) and ASP school coordinators attended the two (2) day virtual event via google platform held November 26-27, 2020.

The virtual implementation review aimed to assess school accomplishments and targets in relation to the Adopt-A-School Program and the Brigada Eskwela Implementation and help school coordinators and school heads re-align their plans for the next fiscal year in line with the Covid-19 situation and the possibility of the face-to-face learning modalities for school year 2020-2021.

Each school program implementer or school head virtually presented their school annual accomplishments by presenting school targets, total generated resources and the percentage of accomplishment together with the schools’ best practices in terms of partnership. School accomplishments supported by the partnership activities were also highlighted.

Notable partnership activities include 100 Days to Brigada Eskwela which is an early offshoot of Brigada Eskwela launching usually held from January-February, “Atagan sa Paaralan” which is the monthly maintenance and cleaning activities done by parents and other volunteer organization in the schools, school-based stakeholders’ recognition programs, “Gulayan sa Tahanan” a homebased gardening advocacy during pandemic and different virtual reading activities to help primary learners.

Social media campaigns and early implementation also were key to higher total generated resources. Involvement of the Barangay council and other partners showed impacts in the implementation process.

Schools Division Superintendent, Aniano M. Ogayon emphasized the importance of long-term partnership projects and the ability to stay out of solicitations to lessen partners’ fatigue. He encouraged the participants to focus on Company Social Responsibilities or CSR.

Technical difficulties of the presenters were not anticipated such as connection lost during presentation and difficulty in presenting due to gadget compatibility.

All schools have presented the annual accomplishment but were not able to present the plan for 2021. Phase 2 of this webinar is highly suggested to cover and provide technical assistance to program coordinators and school heads.

OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Maylani Galicia listened to the school accomplishment and provided encouragement to the school coordinators.

Chief Education Program Supervisor for School Governance and Operations Division, Dr. Edwin R. Rodriguez gave his insights and suggested to add provision for the percentage of target activities versus the number of activities supported by partnership and not just focus on the total generated resources results and percentage of increment from the previous year.

The virtual Adopt-A-School Program Implementation Review Cum Planning is now on its second year. The said activity also provides to acknowledges not just the partners but also the school coordinators and school head who are the prime movers in the school implementation.
