BATANGAS CITY - In a recent Network Briefing News conducted by the Presidential Communications Operations Office, Ibaan Mayor Joy Salvame emphasized the importance of COVID-19 vaccination.

She stated that he was one of those who contracted COVID last year, so he took the initiative in informing his constituents about the importance of getting vaccinated.

In addition, the local government also contacted the Red Cross leadership for people who want to be vaccinated but are not yet included in the priority groups/categories to be vaccinated.

They give priority to those who work in each family especially and most of the Ibaenos work in cities like Batangas and Lipa where cases are high. Also in the Ibaan PIO reports, it appears from the data that most of the deaths in COVID are those who have not been vaccinated.

According to Salvame, providing a solution to COVID-19 is exhausting, especially with the various testing, facility support and so on, so he contacted the DOH for the help it can provide to their after.

They ensure that vaccination is continuous based on vaccine allocation. The population is 60,000 of which the eligible population of 18 years and above is 40,000 and currently 17,000-18,000 people have been vaccinated or 35% of the population.

In addition, the local government also intensified prevention where there was a Polyclinic project with DOH Calabarzon led by Director Eduardo Janairo.

Under the current E-Care, it has become Home Care especially when the increase in simple cases becomes worse so there is a group to focus so that those who can be easily treated do not get worse.

Salvame added that they have accredited the isolation facility due to the increase in number and depletion of bed capacity in isolation facilities throughout the province which is why Don Juan A Pastor Memorial High School (DJAPMHS) was approved as an isolation facility with 40-bed capacity funded by the local government with the assistance of the Batangas Provincial Government office and 4th District Representative Llanda Bolilia.

Finally, Salvame expressed his gratitude for the support received by the town of Ibaan especially during this time of pandemic. He said that they will continue to do their best to serve the people so they will continue to ask for the cooperation of the Ibaenos. (with report from Bhaby P. De Castro, PIA) Batangas/GG)
