SAN PEDRO, Laguna - Mayor Art Mercado kept his promise to the people of San Pedro with the recent groundbreaking ceremony for the city's much-anticipated San Pedro Sports and Arts Center.

This state-of-the-art, multi-purpose facility is poised to become a vibrant hub for the city's cultural and athletic pursuits, hosting everything from graduations and concerts to sports competitions and cultural shows.

"What was once a dream is now one step closer to reality," declared Mayor Mercado in a recent Facebook post. He expressed his gratitude to the people of San Pedro, whose "honest and diligent payment of taxes" made this project possible.

But the center's purpose goes beyond fulfilling campaign promises or providing a new event space alongside the existing Pacita Astrodome and Town Plaza. According to Mayor Mercado, it's a vital investment in the city's future, nurturing its artistic and athletic talents.

"San Pedro is brimming with gifted artists and athletes," Mercado shared. "This center will provide them with a platform to hone their skills and reach their full potential."

He envisions the center not only fostering cultural and athletic growth but also boosting tourism and the local economy.

"I hope this will propel us towards our goal of becoming a leading city in Laguna, not just in sports and culture but also in good governance, tourism, and economic development," he said.

The San Pedro Sports and Arts Center represents more than just bricks and mortar. It's a testament to the city's dedication to its people, its passion for creativity and athleticism, and its aspirations for a brighter future.
