TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon – Setting the course for robust economic growth, Tagkawayan recently staged its first Tagkawayan Business Conference. This key gathering was designed to bolster the local economy by strengthening ties between the local government, the private sector, and cooperatives, aiming to promote inclusive growth, enhance trade, and attract more investments to the municipality.

Spearheaded by the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) Tagkawayan, in partnership with the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), the conference saw active participation from local entrepreneurs and stakeholders. Representatives from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) – Quezon Province Inc., government officials, private sector leaders, and various local business organizations were in attendance.

Mayor Carlo Eleazar and members of the Sangguniang Bayan officially inaugurated the program, emphasizing the local government's unwavering commitment to economic progress and creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive. The event also recognized top tax-paying Micro, Small, and Medium Businesses (MSMEs) in the locality, commending their significant contributions to Tagkawayan's revenue and employment generation.

According to Mayor Eleazar, the establishment of the PCCI Tagkawayan Chapter is just the beginning of a deeper collaboration towards a vibrant economy and inclusive development for every Tagkawayanin and business sector. He underscored his administration's vision for a "Matatag, Marangal, at Magiliw na Bayan ng Tagkawayan," highlighting that this new chapter will serve as a vital conduit for public-private synergy.

The Mayor also expressed confidence that by working hand-in-hand, they can unlock Tagkawayan's full economic potential, attract further investments in key sectors like agriculture and trade, and ultimately create more sustainable livelihood opportunities for all residents. He said the Tagkawayan Business Conference is expected to become an annual platform for knowledge exchange, networking expansion, and collaborative efforts for a more progressive future for the municipality.

Distinguished speakers included Engr. Rocky Sarmiento, President of PCCI Quezon, and Rhealon C. Nieto, Vice President. A highlight of the conference was the formation and election of officers for the newly established PCCI Tagkawayan Chapter. Elected officials for this new chapter are Rey Gastador as President, Christian Magsino as Vice President, Jennidel Salamat as Secretary, and Rachel C. Jason as Treasurer.

Also present at the occasion were Emmanuel Querubin, Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer; Aldrine Araña, DTI Representative; and Shena Estanero, President of Quezon LEDIPOs and Lucena Investment Promotions Officer. Vladimir Nieto from PCCI San Pablo also participated in the event.

Local entrepreneurs and cooperatives warmly embraced the initiative, engaging in active dialogue and networking that fostered a deeper understanding of shared goals and challenges. This vibrant exchange of ideas and connections not only provided invaluable insights into market trends and opportunities but also built a stronger foundation of trust and cooperation, essential for fostering sustainable development and investment in the municipality.
