DOLORES, Quezon — Residents of Dolores are set to benefit from the planned UNLAD Convention Center, which will open opportunities for business, tourism, and community development. The project shows the town’s readiness to pursue progress through sustainable infrastructure and inclusive growth.
Envisioned as a catalyst for development, the UNLAD Convention Center will become one of the most iconic landmarks in Quezon Province. It symbolizes Dolores’ determination to rise above challenges and lead with purpose through innovation, cultural pride, and environmental sustainability.
According to Mayor Orlan Calayag, the concept of the UNLAD Convention Center is inspired by the Bayuko, a traditional symbol of unity, strength, and adaptability. The geodesic dome design is envisioned to accommodate over 3,000 people, making it one of the most significant future landmarks in the town.
Its innovative form and cultural inspiration blend modern engineering with local identity, reflecting the ingenuity and resilience of the resident's spirit. The project aims to create a space that honors tradition while celebrating progress, creativity, and forward-thinking design.
The project prioritizes sustainability, with plans to integrate energy-efficient systems, natural ventilation, and the use of local and eco-friendly materials. The facility is expected to host events, conventions, and gatherings that will boost the local economy and position Dolores as a hub for innovation and collaboration in Southern Luzon.
The UNLAD Convention Center is a legacy project developed with Congressman David “Jay-Jay” C. Suarez, whose commitment to inclusive development and environmental sustainability continues to drive transformative initiatives across Quezon Province.
