SAN PABLO CITY (PIA) - Pinarangalan bilang 2016 Model Local Chief Executive si Mayor Loreto Amante bilang City Mayor at Chairman ng Board of Regents ng Dalubhasaan ng Lunsod ng San Pablo bilang pagkilala sa kanyang mahalagang kontribusyon sa pag-unlad at pagsulong ng mataas na edukasyon sa local government. Iginawad ang award sa punong lunsod nuong Oktubre 10 kaalinsabay ng 9th ALCUCOA National Conference na ginanap sa Mini-Theater, University of Makati na may temang 

“Understanding Quality Assurance in the Context of Local and International Standards and Practices.” Isa si Amante sa limang local chief executive mula sa Urdaneta City, Pangasinan; Mabalacat City, Pampanga; Capalog, Davao del Norte at La Carlota, Negros na nabigyan ng pagkilala ng Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation sa pamumuno ni Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, President and Executive Director. 

Ang DLSP ay isa rin sa mga miyembro ng may 105 local colleges at universities sa buong Pilipinas. Matatandaan na nagsimulang magbukas ang DLSP nuong July 2, 1977 sa pagtataguyod ni dating Mayor Vicente B. Amante kung saan mayroon lamang 401 mag-aaral at 21 faculty members. Ngunit sa patuloy na pagtataguyod ni Mayor Loreto Amante sa nasimulan ng kanyang butihing ama, Mayor Vicente Amante, mayroon ng mahigit na 15,000 ang napagtapos ng DLSP at may 131 faculty members. Halos lahat ng nagtapos sa iba’t-ibang kurso sa DLSP ay mayroon ng magandang trabaho hindi lamang dito sa bansa kundi maging sa iba’t-ibang panig ng mundo. (MCA/CIO-SPC/PIA)
