INFANTA, Quezon – Infanta is cracking down on noise pollution, with strict new rules on motorcycle exhausts taking effect immediately, under a new directive from Mayor L.A. Ruanto. This decisive move aims to bring back the peace and quiet many residents have been craving.

This bold step is a key part of Mayor Ruanto's overall LINGAP Agenda, which focuses on community welfare, public safety, and fostering discipline among Infanta's residents. The newly issued Executive Order No. 002, Series of 2025, specifically strengthens Municipal Ordinance No. 12, Series of 2014, which already prohibits modified or overly loud motorcycle exhausts that disturb the community's tranquility.

To further combat noise pollution, the order also enforces Municipal Ordinance No. 05, Series of 2010. This ordinance specifically targets any and all noise pollution coming from vehicles, ensuring a comprehensive approach to a quieter Infanta. If you're caught with a loud exhaust, be prepared for serious consequences, as the municipality is determined to make Infanta a more pleasant and peaceful place for everyone.

For first-time offenders, the penalties are significant: you could face fines of up to ₱2,500. On top of that, your motorcycle will be immediately impounded by authorities. You'll only get it back after paying the full fine and guaranteeing that the loud exhaust has been permanently removed or replaced with a legal, compliant one.

Repeat offenders will face even tougher consequences, possibly including higher fines and longer impoundment periods. This shows the municipality's unwavering commitment to making sure everyone follows the rules and to finding a lasting solution to noise disturbance. To make sure these regulations are enforced effectively, Mayor Ruanto has given a direct order to all relevant authorities.

Ordinance enforcers, members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other concerned offices have been specifically tasked with actively catching violators and issuing Ordinance Violation Receipts (OVRs) on the spot. This is all part of the new administration's strengthened campaign to maintain order, peace, and quiet across all of Infanta, reflecting a proactive approach to governance.

During his inauguration, Mayor Ruanto emphasized his administration's deep commitment to fostering order, peace, and quiet in Infanta. He's also actively asking for the public's cooperation and vigilance. He urges all citizens to be watchful and promptly report any violations to the proper authorities, stressing that this collective effort is absolutely vital for maintaining a well-ordered and peaceful Infanta for all its inhabitants.
